 Description
This 1-Day K-2 Results for English Learners Update Institute is specifically designed for those who have already taken the 6-Day  CRLP Results for  English Learners Institute.  The Results Update provides an orientation to and practice with the updated Results planning tools.  Institute includes: Improved planning tools A leaner and more powerful before, during and after reading sequence to ensure English Learners engage, comprehend and express understanding of complex grade level-text Greater clarity and depth on fundamental principals related to: EL achievement Vocabulary Background knowledge Comprehension strategies  Student engagement and motivation

 Description
  21st Century Teacher-Leader Opportunity You Are Invited to Apply: Build S.F. Teacher Externships Who:           All Academy/Pathway Elective Teachers, Core Teachers and                                       Plan Ahead Teachers Why: ·         To provide teachers a 21st Century contextual format of what skills are necessary and utilized in a professional-business setting.  ·         Relate these skills to course content and the Common Core Curriculum ·         Design and create focused lessons to engage students pursuit of pre-professional educational opportunities ·        Develop and reinforce team communication and planning When:       June 4th – June 22th, 2012 Stipend:  $1500 There is a limit of 15 externships. Academy teams should have completed or designed at least one integrated project and be eager to participate. This project will be used as a reference and tool during the externship experience. Plan Ahead teachers should be prepared to create lessons related to Unit 2 Lessons 6, 7 & 8 that examine district career exploration options (information will be provided). The Science of Sound Playshop: The World is Your Instrument
 Description
This 1/2 day SLANT-inspired workshop is offered to all pre-K - 8th grade teachers and includes hands-on instrument making as well as the opportunity to experience the science and language of sound. We will explore pitch, resonance and collaborative composition. Teachers will be paid at their UESF agreed upon extended hourly rate.
