Pilot of 10th Grade College and Career Curriculum Mar 08, 2012
To Principals, Counselors and English Department Chairs,
This spring SFUSD will pilot a Plan Ahead Push-in Lesson for 10th Grade with selected English classes around the district. This one-week activity is designed as a structured writing and research activity to help students connect their interests to possible career options; it will be team-taught with the School Counselor!!These week long lessons were written to supplement to Plan Ahead, the district's approved 9th grade course for the college and career elective.
Here is some information about the lessons:
•Designed as one-week interdisciplinary activities for grades 10-12 meant to be taught in core classes
•Offered this spring in English classes at selected sites
•Intended to help students, teachers and counselors continue the conversation about college and career options and post-secondary success
Your presence is requested at the "10th grade Pilot kick-off" meeting on March 8, 2012 in the Multipurpose Room at 750 25th Avenue. Light Refreshments will be served.
